Once a year, folks gather round to remember Norma Satten and to celebrate the work of other local leaders who are working to make San Francisco a better place for seniors and people with disabilities of all ages, as well as their hands-on care providers.
This September we honored Anne Hinton, the long time Executive Director of the Dept. of Aging and Adult Services. With a room full of well-wishers, colleagues and family members, Anne shared stories of people who helped shape her vision for the collaborative style she has brought to her work. As Margy Baran, who introduced her, stated on behalf of all of us, “Her legacy is our richness of aging services, our nation-wide reputation for innovation, our can-do attitude, and our commitment to our most vulnerable citizens.”
We want to thank the event sponsors, Silent Auction donors and purchasers, and the nearly 200 who attended this year. A special thank you goes to Johnnie Brooks and Peko Yamaguchi who lifted our spirits in song, the Board of CLC who played a multitude of roles that evening and our Community Connectors, Trainers, and neighborhood volunteers who shared their work and their hopes for the future. Download the Event Program Book (PDF) to see more about Anne, CLC’s work over the past year, and more!
This year’s event also featured the work of our VIP’s – Videographers in Production – whose videos were shown around the event that evening. You will learn more about our videographers in a future blog post but for now, enjoy the pictures and mark you calendar to look out for the date of our 2016 event.
